Church Secured Through smart2K/bio
Case Studies
BackgroundOverlake Christian Church (OCC) is the largest church in the Pacific Northwest with a 250,000 sq. ft. facility containing 114 doors.
The Problem
With a very active membership numbering in the thousands, OCC had a high level of people traffic both on Sundays and weekdays. Their primary concern was to secure the administrative area that accommodates over 140 staff members and had to be accessible to over 200 volunteers. Although they had installed keypad access control systems that require a personal identification number (PIN) to gain access, they found that the system was no longer effective, as volunteers would share their PIN with other people.
OCC was seeking an access control terminal with the following requirements:
- Biometric technology to permit accurate user verification.
- Access management and tracking.
- A complete, cost-efficient solution.
The Solution
iCrescendo analyzed OCC’s situation and recommended the smart2K/bio terminals as a way to provide user-verified access control. The competitively priced, all-inclusive package offered OCC the terminal and the necessary software to manage and track user activity. To gain access to the administrative areas, users enter a PIN and verify their identity with a fingerprint. With this system, OCC solved its problems and gained the following benefits:
- Unauthorized access due to pin sharing was no longer a problem.
- Access time and areas could be manage on an individual level, allowing only certain people access at certain times.
- User access activity could be tracked providing for a more focused incidence follow-up.
