Astra Credit Company (ACC) Success Story

Astra Credit Company (ACC) is a finance company belonging to Astra Group of Companies, one of the largest automobile manufacturers in Asia. ACC has a geographically dispersed operation and branch offices in many Asian cities.

Its branch offices vary in sizes, from a small 7 person operation to a 300 person headquarters in Jakarta. ACC has focused on centralizing all of its back office functions, such as, payroll, finance, recruiting, in their headquarters, keeping only the very direct front office functions in their branches. Using this centralized model to drive down operating cost, ACC needed a Time and Attendance solution that would enable them to centrally manage the terminals while providing constant feedback to the management and still be reliable in the field.

After carefully evaluating several different systems, ACC chose the smart2K/Web as their Time and Attendance terminal. They installed 27 smart2K/Web time and attendance terminals in 26 locations around the country.

Using the built-in TCP/IP capability of the Smart2K/Web terminals, ACC connected the systems directly over their WAN. In combination with the Smart2K/Web browser based utility, ACC can remotely control and manage each terminal throughout the company. Once a terminal is connected to the WAN in an office, ACC can remotely set all of the parameters and manage the attendance data. Using Microsoft Scheduler, ACC downloads all of the data from each office on a daily basis and reports are generated for the managers to review.

Versatile and easy to use, these sophisticated and advanced terminals have enabled ACC to streamline front office functions and realize tremendous operating cost reductions by managing attendance and payroll centrally. They have also benefited from an increase in reliable and accurate employee attendance information.

The combination of the robust web based application with a rugged terminal that made the system simple to use and created a great cost saving opportunity.
